Summer's Almost Here!

Omg, I can't believe Summer's almost here!! It feels like the year just began. Well, we are all gearning up for Summer and making big plans. This will be a different kind of Summer for us because I am going to work a part-time job for the first time during the Summer. The kids all insist they will be fine, so I think this is gonna be harder on me than on them. :-) Russell is scheduled to take a CPR class in June (this will ease my mind a bit), and Lee is working a yard job for the Summer so he will be home most of the day as well. We are wanting to go camping this summer so we will see if we can get that in. Being that I am working at Farmer's Pools I am praying that our pool will be in better shape (now that I know what I'm doing, lol!), which will mean a Summer full of swimming and fun by the pool!! We are also hoping that Lee's nieces and nephews get to come and spend some time with us as well. As for school, everyone is doing well, and the boys are getting ready for finals. I can't believe that Russell will be a Junior next year, and it will be Maddie's last year in elementary school! They sure grow up fast! Well, here's to hoping the Summer is peaceful, full of fun, and restful!! Thank you Jesus in advance for an amazing Summer!!!

Christmas was fun...now back to reality!

I absolutely love the Christmas season! This Christmas was no different. My mom came in for Thanksgiving, and we had a wonderful time with her!! Then for Christmas we opened presents here and then headed to Texas to spend the rest of the holiday with Lee's family. The kids were super excited because they got a Connect for the XBox, so needless to say it went to Texas with us. We had a wonderful and restful time in Texas. It was in the 6o's and 70's the whole week...lets just say moma did not pack everyone for summer :-( Lee's parents did not know we were coming so when we arrived they were so excited to see him. The entire week was full of seeing family and sharing memories. It was also a chance for me to polish up on my Spanish...this year I think I managed not to say anything stupid!!! Whoo hoo!! When we returned from Texas it did not take long for life to get back to normal. So far this year we have had several accomplishments...we finished our 21 day Fast (PTL!!), we had an extreme night of Worship at the Church, we held our Winter Intercession Gathering (that went beautifully), and I have learned and worked (parts) of the media boards at the Marble Hill location of CFA! Whew! And its only the 25th of January!! Looks like it is going to be an amazing year for the Sanchez Family!

Fall Fun

I love this time of year. It is a season of change, and boy am I ready for some change! The summer was full of construction, trips, and fun. Unfortunately the construction has lasted into the school year, and that has made for a mess. The downstairs is looking amazing, and I cannot wait until we can get the boys back into their room. As for the kids..they are all doing amazing in school right now, and we went to a College Fair with Russell yesterday. UG! That was hard on a moma. I am almost finished with my class this term and will not have to go back until January, thank you Jesus!! I still have a 4.0!! Lee has been super busy, but we are just grateful he is able to continue working here, as many of the other railroaders have had to relocate. I am getting excited about the holiday season, and am looking forward to seeing friends and family. I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas season, and please don't forget to get out there and vote next Tuesday!!!

About time...

I just happened to glance at my FB page and saw that I had a blogspot. Is it weird that I forgot I had one?? I really am trying to get into this computer stuff, but am struggling to find the time. Anyway...tons has happened since last summer so I guess I will try to catch up over my next few posts. Probably the biggest change was our addition to the family...no...not the baby yet...but a teenager. My niece Larissa came to live with us in October. She has been such a wonderful addition to our family. She has been a nice feminine change for Madolyn. She has done amazing here and is doing great in school. The plan is for her to go to Alabama to visit for the Summer and we will go from there. I sure hope she comes back...as does the kids! She got a new hairdo today...it looks awesome. I am learning a lot about teenagers and fast. Lesson learned today...a good hairdo will make a teen girl Very happy!!! Wonder what I will learn tomorrow????

Summertime

I had the goal of doing nothing this Summer. Well...not exactally what I had planned! We started the summer with Violin lessons and instructions for Justin's bandcamp. After 4 weeks of bandcamp and a new marumba at the house Justin has officially become a man of percussion. He is still taking drum lessons on the weekend, and now he has some things to practice on the marumba!! Russell will complete his violin lessons for the summer in the next couple of weeks. As for Lee...well, we are blessed that he is working. However, because of all of the cutbacks at the Railroad they are working him to death. He finally has vacation next week and we decided to stay at home and just rest!! So crossing my fingers that is what the plan is!!
It has also been a summer of suprises. The summer started with a suprise visit from my mom!! What a wonderful way to start the summer!! She helped me to get some deep cleaning done! Yuck!! She also brought a puppy with her, Rosco, and the kids fell in love! I am happy to announce that we were able to get her to take the dog back with her, contrary to the kids desires!! A week after my mom left we got another suprise. I got a call that my dad had a heart attack! We dropped everything and headed for Ohio. When we got there it was hard to see dad in a weak state!! He has always been the strong, healthy one in the family!! He recovered quickly and is scheduled to have the other blockage removed the end of August. I am believing that when the docs go to look for the blockage it will have already been healed!!! As for Maddie she is still looking for a hobby or sport. She is so creative! I am always amazed at her ability to write such beautiful stories. Maybe she will be an author or something!! For me, well it has been a summer of recovery for me. I have been doing pulmonary rehab 2x a week and am making progress. The O2 is helping, and I hope to be off of it by the end of the summer. I also had a cyst removed last week. I'll go back in 2 weeks to see if it was a success.
It's the middle of July and it seems like it has been a much busier summer than I had planned, but overall it has been a wonderful summer getting to hang out with my hubby, kids and family. As for he rest of the summer...............?
